creative challenge for young opera stage directors

    #OperaCall was a creative project initiated by Ivan Rudin and myself as curator. The competition was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of S. V. Rachmaninoff's birth. Young directors from different cities of the country who had passed the preliminary stage were given the task of creating a concept for a semistage production of one of the operas: Aleko,The Miserly Knight, Francesca da Rimini, Monna Vanna and Iolanta.

    The competition received 48 applications, 20 of which made it to the Main Competition Stage and 5 to the finals. The winners presented their performances on the stage of the Moscow Concert Hall Zaryadye as part of the XXIII International Music Festival ArsLonga.
