Silent city
performative mediapromenade
  • Dmitry Otyakovsky
    stage director
Silent City is a media performance combining AR installations, a promenade, and a musical component. Created as part of the Waterfront project of the Danish Cultural Institute in St. Petersburg, Silent City invites you into an alternative universe, where employees of the Research Institute of Psychoacoustic Anomalies have discovered numerous rifts of reality in St. Petersburg's rivers.

The viewer is invited to download the application and go in search of these very faults marked with special signs. Coming to one of these places, you need to plug in your headphones, turn on the app and point your smartphone camera at the sign. The project also published a mockumentary report by Ksenia Borisovna Fluktus, which lifts the veil of mystery of psychoacoustic anomalies.
