The Snow Queen is a symphonic fairy tale by Rustam Sagdiyev that closes the Hermitage Theater's Opera in Pictures subscription. The story of Kai and Gerda unfolded around an online sand drawing machine, a fictional app created by teenagers. The text, spoken by the characters from the stage, was created in a process of performative horizontal co-creation, so all the performers are co-authors.

The production made active use of digital aesthetics: the artists on stage interacted with each other via smartphones. Their correspondence was displayed on the screen, video calls were broadcasted, and even doubts about the choice of stickers to send in a chat. The main idea of the performance was the discommunication of teenagers in the modern world and the total transition of communication into digital reality.
