Masks is an opera web series created during the COVID-19 pandemic. Together with the composer Georgy Fyodorov, we came up with an ironic plot that parodies the events going on around us. The format of the series was designed specifically for viewing on smartphones: the vertical orientation of the frame and the imitation of mobile interfaces helped us achieve full immersion in the story.

The heroes of Masks are our contemporaries facing an unusual disease. Everyone who becomes infected with the virus begins to age at an incredible rate. There is only one protection against infection — masks, but in Ulyanovsk, Seva and Vika's hometown, it is in terrible short supply. Seva decides to sew a few thousand masks and give them away for free to the people of Ulyanovsk, but he does not know that his wife is already sick...
