In 2023, I became the chief director of the Khabarovsk Musical Theater and staged the musical Vinyl by Evgeny Zagot as my first premiere. It seemed interesting to me to tell the audience a touching love story set in the era of the Stylagi — an amazing time when the younger generation discovered new music, clothes and dances.

The play is set in a Moscow university on the eve of the World Festival of Youth and Students. Shock and euphoria — these were the expressions in which eyewitnesses described what was happening on the streets of Moscow that summer. For the first time, the capital's youth were able to freely communicate with their peers from other countries, exchange forbidden recordings, and simply walk around. However, employees of the ubiquitous State Security Committee were not thrilled with what was happening.
